Monastery at Chiavari

One of the spiritual goals that I had set for this year was to take a weekend away to have undisturbed time with the Lord. The Lord provided this very economical monastery for me, which suited my purposes perfectly. Even better, it was within walking distance of the sea (which I hadn’t set eyes on for far too many rainy months!)

 

I was able to spend a good amount of time in God’s word, walking along with beach with Him, and just conversing.  One of many messages that I took away from that weekend, is repeated over and over in Is. 43-48.  “”Before me no god was formed, no will there be one after me.  I even I , am the Lord, and apart from there is no savior (43:10-11).”  “I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God (45:5).

 

Even when we don’t understand His ways, His timing, etc., at some point we have  to bow the knee and say, “YOU are God (not me) and there is NO other.”  Thank you God for this precious time passed with you.
